Boiler Replacement & Heating System Upgrade – Midlothian

Allied Trade Plumbing & Heating recently completed a full heating system upgrade for a customer in Midlothian, replacing an older back boiler system with a new modern combi boiler and upgraded radiators throughout the property. The installation was carried out by Nathan, Jamie, Colin and Graham over the course of a week, with the works carefully planned to minimise disruption to the customer’s home. The engineers began by draining the heating system, stripping the gas fire, removing the old cylinder, hanging the new boiler and starting on the flue. Over the next few days, they replaced the old bathroom radiators with the new ones the customer had selected. They fitted and piped the radiators, replaced the valves, and routed the condensate to the shower drain pipe. The engineers continued the pipework at the boiler, upgrading the gas pipe to 22mm from outside the house into and around the attic, and into the boiler cupboard. Finally, power flushed, finished the gas pipe, cut out the old external gas pipe, put plasterboard over the fireplace, and installed an MDF panel in the attic. Throughout the installation, the customer was kept updated on progress daily, and the team ensured all working areas remained clean and tidy at the end of each day. Upon completion, the homeowner commented on the engineers’ professionalism and friendliness, as well as the care taken throughout the installation process.

The finished heating system now provides improved efficiency, reliability, and comfort throughout the property while modernising the home’s overall heating performance.
