Drainage Installation for House Extension – Edinburgh

Our engineers Ross and Graham completed a large drainage installation project as part of a house extension in Midlothian.

The works involved new drainage connections and associated pipework to support the extension, ensuring the installation fully complied with current Building Standards requirements. They began by lifting the customer’s mono blocking, digging to the exposed pipes, and using the drain camera. They continued digging, then replaced the wrong fittings with the correct ones, which included installing access on three downpipes, and finished the 4-inch pipework. They finished the alterations to the rainwater drains, filling the areas around the pipes with gravel and filling the holes. Finally, they removed all debris from the site. Throughout the project, Ross, Graham, and the wider Allied Trade team worked closely with the homeowner, contractors, and Building Standards to ensure all stages of the work were completed correctly and efficiently. From the initial consultation through to completion, the customer was kept informed by both the office team and the on-site engineers. Careful planning and communication helped ensure the project remained on schedule and within the agreed quotation. Particular attention was paid to maintaining a safe, tidy working environment during the works, with the site cleaned and secured at the end of each day to minimise disruption to the homeowner. The completed drainage installation was delivered to a high standard and successfully integrated into the new extension project, providing a reliable long-term drainage solution for the property.
